Bruce Walker

Bruce Walker

This October, we had the honor of presenting Bruce Walker with a check from the Michael J. Ruotolo Foundation.

Bruce has faithfully given his time for the past 33 years as a member and current assistant Chief of the Cheesequake Volunteer Fire Company.

In 2016, Bruce underwent quadruple bypass surgery. Complications arose over the years and he was eventually diagnosed with irreversible heart failure. This additional strain on his body has also contributed to his kidneys failing.

In 2020, Bruce was informed that a dual heart/kidney transplant would be his best chance of having a longer and better quality of life.

In August of 2020, Bruce received his transplants and was in the hospital for over two months post-surgery.

Bruce is a fighter and we wish him all the best.
